The DeepCwind Consortium's Education & Outreach team has just launched the Windstorm Challenge 2012 website and online registration. High school and middle school teams may now sign up to compete in the April 27 competition. We encourage you to visit the website at WindstormChallenge.com to learn more. You can also find us on Facebook by clicking here.
The DeepCwind Consortium’s Windstorm Challenge is an interdisciplinary learning opportunity in which students explore the concepts of deepwater wind technology and its role in Maine’s future. By participating in Windstorm Challenge, students apply concepts learned in the classroom to solving real-world problems. This process provides students with hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, and new media, helping them select their future college majors.
The event is designed for student with a diverse range of experience and interests. All middle and high school students are invited to participate. Teams are not required to be from a specific school or classroom, and home school students are welcome. An adult adviser is required.
