Interior chief Ken Salazar to visit UMaine

ORONO, Maine — U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar plans to visit the University of Maine to check out progress on offshore wind-power research.

The Obama Cabinet member will be in the state Thursday for a series of meetings arranged by Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Salazar will tour UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center to learn more about the university-led consortium’s work toward developing technology to harness offshore wind for renewable power.
